What exactly will you get to know from our webinar?
In many industries, there's a rapid acceleration of digital transformation underway. The real estate market is no exception to this phenomenon. We're witnessing an increase in technological investments aimed at meeting the current expectations of tenants and other users. Solutions in the realm of Smart Home are becoming increasingly popular in offices, hotels, shopping malls, and residential buildings.
The ongoing digitization streamlines management, reduces operational costs, supports financial and accounting processes, optimizes internal procedures, facilitates workflow continuity, and enhances the quality of property functioning. For instance, some office buildings or hotels implement virtual receptions, where guests enter after scanning a QR code. However, alongside the convenience derived from technological advancements, serious security threats arise.
Property owners and tenants are accumulating more and more user data through the use of new technologies – ranging from contact information and location to behaviors and habits. All these resources are stored in cyberspace, thereby becoming susceptible to interception by cybercriminals.
Unfortunately, buildings don't always possess adequate levels of cybersecurity. A gap in IT system security, lack of regular updates, choosing an unverified service provider, unauthorized access by a third party, or even a momentary lapse in the attention of an employee could lead to a breach in the building management system and the leakage of valuable data.
The number of cyberattacks on smart buildings has significantly risen, posing dangers to both owners and managers, as well as users. Around 84% of building automation systems are connected to the internet, so it's no surprise that hackers are relentless. And this is just the beginning. It's estimated that by 2025, as many as 70 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices will be connected to networks.
How can one effectively prepare for diverse threats and ensure the cybersecurity of properties? To address such questions, we've created our webinar. You'll learn from it:
- How the IT landscape looks in real estate,
- revealing what your apartment building, shopping mall, or hotel knows about you
- The nature of entirely new (cyber) threats to the real estate market
- Which solutions, ideas, and protective strategies can strike a balance
- What potential threats arise from the development of Smart Home technologies
